US analytics unicorn Starburst right now announced the acquisition of Israeli knowledge lake analytics organization Varada. No financial facts about the acquisition had been disclosed but sources shut to the offer estimate that it was for about $50 million.

Varada has developed knowledge indexing engineering, which will enhance Starburst’s huge knowledge analytics system. In Starburst’s most the latest financing round in February, it raised $250 million at a company valuation of $3.35 billion. In overall Starburst has elevated $450 million.

Varada was founded in 2017 by CTO David Krakov, VP R&D Roman Vainbrand and main architect Tal Ben Moshe, former executives at storage business XtremIO, which was bought to Dell EMC in 2012 for $500 million. Given that 2018, Eran Vanunu has been Varada’s CEO. The company has 30 staff members who are expected to join Starburst.
